Kathmandu, Nov. 24: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said he and his party were committed to the dignity of an independent judiciary.
Chair Prachanda's secretariat stated this in a press note it issued today. It has clarified that the topic mentioned in the political proposal presented in the party's Secretariat Meeting on November 13 was not related to the prestige of the independent judiciary.
"Chairman Comrade Prachanda has made it clear that it sought only to clarify matters about the Prime Minister's views regarding the judiciary on the basis of the issue that was talked about outside the party and not on the dignity and prestige of the judiciary; and it has no relation to the independent judiciary and its honourable chief," the press note reads.
Chairman Prachanda had presented the political proposal with the consent of other members of the secretariat. The NCP Secretariat is scheduled to meet on November 28.
