Parasi, Sept 12: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav visited the historic Ramgram Stupa (temple) in West Nawalparasi on Thursday morning.
A relic of lord Gautam Buddha is ensconced at the Ramgram Stupa.
On the occasion, Dipendra Chaudhary of the Lumbini Devlopment Trust briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the historical importance of the Stupa and the development situation around the area as well as on the efforts for developing Ramgram area into a pilgrimage site.
State Assembly member of State 5 Baijanath Jayaswal said that although being very important place linked with the life of the Buddha, Ramgram and Panditpur areas in west Nawalparasi were still neglected. He urged the Deputy Prime Minister to take the necessary initiatives for the development of these places.
