Kavreplanchowk, Sept. 12: Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal said the government has adopted a policy to increase number of agro-based cooperatives by slashing savings cooperatives.
Minister Aryal said this while inaugurating the 52nd establishment day and 38th annual general meeting of the District Cooperative Association Limited Kavrepalnchowk at Dhulikhel today.
"The campaign of prosperity will be taken ahead at local levels through thematic cooperatives. The thematic cooperatives such as agriculture therefore are necessary for this. Number of cooperatives will be increased and decreased through procedural way",
She further said environment would be enabled to run high-scale agriculture farms and industries through agriculture cooperatives. "The government is mooting to operate cooperatives for development in a different fashion".
The minister called for the farmers to differently utilize land for maximizing production when the government was planning for prosperity campaign.
