Kathmandu, Nov. 26: Vitamin 'A' is to be administered to 2 million 718 thousand 459 children between six to 59 months old throughout the country today and tomorrow.
The Vitamin 'A' should have been fed to these many children on October 18 and 19 but was put off due to the Bada Dashain festival. It has been launched after one month now, said Kalpana Pandey, Public Health Officer at the Department of Health Services, Women Welfare Division, Nutrition Section.
Before this, the programme of feeding Vitamin 'A' to children which was to be conducted in May was rescheduled for July 6 and 7 due to risk of coronavirus pandemic.
The women health volunteers have been mobilized at all the wards of the 753 local units of the country for administration of Vitamin 'A'. De-worming tablets would also be fed along with Vitamin 'A' to the children as part of the National Vitamin 'A' Campaign.
