Kathmandu, Dec 16: Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has called for making the party united. He said this during a meeting with the newly-elected vice president of the party Dhanraj Gurung today.
Gurung has been elected to the post from the party's 14th General Convention.
Congratulating Gurung on his election to the party's high post, senior leader Poudel emphasized the need of consolidating the party unity for winning the upcoming three tiers elections. He also suggested running the party according to its statute.
Leader Poudel said that he and party general secretary Dr Shashank Koirala are on a mission to foster unity and goodwill in the party.
On the occasion, the newly-elected vice president asserted that he was also for a united party and to make it an ace party competing with the opponents during the general elections. He made it clear that he will be involved in the campaign of freeing the party of factionalism.
