Nepal Bar Association (NBA), the umbrella organisation of law practitioners in the country, has demanded action against those behind the attack on senior advocate Sunil Kumar Shrestha.
Encircling a law firm of Shrestha is not only an indecent activity, but also an act of threatening his life, read a statement issued today by NBA's General Secretary Lilamani Poudel.
On December 18, an unidentified group of over 50 people attacked Shrestha over his pleading a case in the capacity of a legal practitioner for defendant Bijaya Pathak, read the statement. The attackers were allegedly hired by the plaintiffs in the case.
