Kathmandu, Nov. 24: The Supreme Court is to conduct hearing based on lottery-system from December 1. The recent full court meeting of the SC Justices decided to adopt the allocation of benches on lottery-system.
The informal meeting of 19 Justices at Supreme Court on Wednesday decided to hold another full court meeting by forging agreement with court administration and enforce the lottery-based allocation of hearing.
The 19 Justices at Supreme Court are also learnt to have planned a discussion with the representatives of Nepal Bar Association before holding another full court meeting.
The Justices including Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana had agreed to pass the regulation on allocation of benches to Justices on the basis of lottery-system. Both the SC Justices and NBA had demanded the enforcement of hearing on lottery-system.
Although some cases were heard in recent days, smooth conduct of hearing is awaited for almost a month in the wake of agitated NBA.
