Siraha, Dec. 28: Local administration has lifted the prohibitory order it had imposed in Siraha since this morning.
Issuing a statement, Chief District Officer of Siraha, Lalbabu Kawari said the prohibitory order that was in effect in the district has been lifted.
The order was in force from Balan rivulet in the east to the East-West National Highway of the Kamala River in the west, the area around 500 meters towards north-south of the highway and from Chohabi to Siraha road section (Petrol pump) and up to 500 metres in the east-west of the road stretch.
The district administration office had enforced the restraining order since this morning to 7.00 pm Wednesday noting that the general strike continued by the Dr CK Raut-led Janamat Party for the past three days has put normal life in trouble.
Situation had remained tensed after police arrested local farmer Mithilesh Yadav on the charge of being involved in looting wheat seeds.
The farmers had taken wheat from the warehouse of Aurahi rural municipality in Siraha saying that the rural municipality had delayed the distribution of wheat seeds. The Siraha District Court has meanwhile ordered to release the arrested Yadav on a general date today.
