Kathmandu, Feb. 4: The government has initiated a campaign to distribute land ownership certificates to the landless squatter people across the country. Under this campaign, the government has so far handed over land ownership certificates to around 12,000 household throughout the country.
Minster for Land Management and Poverty Alleviation Shashi Shrestha had reached the ground some days ago to hand over the much-awaited land ownership certificates to the indigent population.
According to the ministry, land ownership certificates were handed over to the households of Ramgopalpur of Mahottari, Agrisair Krishnasawaran of Saptari and village block of Tirahut rural municipality.
Meanwhile, Minister Shrestha handed over land ownership certificates to 36 landless people residing at village block in Ichhakamana rural municipality of Chitwan on Friday. On the occasion, she said the government was effortful to resolve the problems of landless squatter people.
