Kathmandu, Jan 14: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Nepal-Dahal faction chair Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the dissolution of House of Representatives (HoR) was against the letter and spirit of the Constitution.
Addressing a programme organized by the Nepal Intellectual Organization against the move of Parliament dissolution here in the capital today, chair Nepal also former Prime Minister said the government was pushing the nation into chaos after dissolving the parliament.
Chairman Nepal argued that no article of the condition permits Prime Minister to recommend the dissolution of the Parliament. He also said that they failed to resolve the intraparty disputes despite several attempts adding that the Prime Minister’s working style was a main cause of leading the party in this situation.
Similarly, party spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha expressed his confidence that the Supreme Court will reinstate the Parliament. He argued that there was no confusion in article 76 of the constitution as it clearly states that the Prime Minister with majority cannot dissolve the parliament.
However, he said that the SC is the final interpreter of the constitution but here in this case there was no vague to further interpret the constitution.
