Surkhet, July 13: The custodial unit at the District Police Office, Surkhet, has been sealed off after coronavirus was found positive on a detainee.
According to the District Police Office, the custody unit has been sealed off after the detainee, who is in custody on rape charges, tested positive for coronavirus.
A 36-year-old person of Birendranagar was arrested on June 28 on the rape charge, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ram Prasad Gharti. He added, “His sample was collected on July 4 for the test as per the order of the court to carry out PCR test of the detainee. PCR test of six detainees including him was carried out and he has now been kept at isolation with coordination of Health Service Office, Surkhet.
Similarly, swab of 22 people including relatives of the detainee and police personnel have been sent to the Corona Test Lab of State Hospital for the test, said police.
