Journalists imparted training on human rights

A journalism training session has completed here today. Organised jointly by the National Human Rights Commission and Sancharika Group Nepal, the two-day training session was participated by 32 women journalists from Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari and Bhojpur districts. The theme for the training was 'human rights for all at home: basis for peace and development'.

Ravaging fire comes near to human settlements; collective efforts on to douse inferno 

A fire that broke out at Thoche in Manang Naso rural municipality since Tuesday evening has yet to come under control. Locals along with Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army personnel had engaged their collective efforts to douse the fire since Wednesday early morning when the inferno continued ravaging forest area.    

Elderly dies in buffalo attack   

Basulal Chudhary, 72, a local of Punarbas municipality-2, Motibasti of Kanchanpur, died when his home-reared he-buffalo attacked him.

Coronavirus infection found in cat for the first time in South Korea

Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in a cat for the first time in South Korea. The infection was found in a pet cat at a settlement at local Gyeongsang Jinju. This is the first case of the coronavirus infection found in an animal in South Korea. COVID-19 pandemic had spread in this settlement in recent days.

A coronavirus-infected Nepali died of brain stroke while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the United Kingdom.

NIC slaps Rs 5,000 fine to Chair Pokharel

The National Information Commission has fined Rs 5,000 to Chairperson of Recruitment Committee of the Nepal Open University, Raj Kumar Pokharel. A bench comprising Chief Information Officer of the Commission, Mahendraman Gurung, and commissioners Kamala Oli and Ratna Prasad Mainali on Monday decided to fine Chair Pokharel in line with Article 31 (1) of Right to Information Act-2064 BS, citing Chair Pokharel failed to provide the information sought.

Over 35 thousand people to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in Province 1  

Thirty-five thousand people deputed in frontline in treatment of patients and sanitation workers would be vaccinated with Covishield vaccine in Province 1.     

Elephantiasis virus found in Narayansthan and Kushmisera 

Lymphatic filariasis, commonly known as Elephantiasis has stood as a health challenge again in Baglung. Just before the start of the 12th phase of Elephantiasis prevention campaign, the disease was found in Narayanthan of Balewa and Kushisera of Jaimini of the district.     

Two die in tipper, motorcycle collision   

Two persons were killed when a tipper truck (Na 8 Kha 980) collided head on with a motorcycle (Ja 6 Pa 1409) along Gaushala-Samsi road in the district today morning.

Free health insurance for HIV infected   

People living with HIV/AIDS have been provided free insurance coverage in the district. The insurance coverage was materialized in coordination with the local level at the initiative of AIDS Health Foundation.    

One arrested with pistol in Sarlahi   

A man has been arrested in possession of a pistol from Kabilas in Sarlahi. Arun Mishra,50, of Gaudata municipality-8, Sarlahi was arrested, according to SP Santosh Singh Rathaour of the District Police Office.    

Army Helicopter Rescues Pregnant Woman in Darchula

A pregnant woman has been rescued by a Helicopter of Nepal Army in Darchula district and taken to the Surkhet based hospital. According to the Chief District Officer of Darchula Sharad Kumar Pokharel, 28 year's old Shobha Bista of Byas Rural Municipality - 5 had heavy bleeding after giving birth at District Hospital Darchula.

Bharatpur Metropolitan City has pursued revenue collection as a campaign. Revenue collection has been increased as the trade and business activities that were hit due to the coronavirus pandemic have started to gradually rebound.  

Two killed in road accident

Two persons died in a road accident that took place in Kawasoti of Nawalpur in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustaeast). The accident involving a motorcycle took place last night in ward no. 8 of Kawasoti municipality.

Two rhinos found dead 

Two rhinoceroses have died of natural cause in Chitwan National Park (CNP). A calf was found dead at the location inhabited by wild buffaloes at Purano Padampur while a dead male adult rhino was discovered at Dumariya.    

Press Organisation Nepal demands reinstatement of HoR

Issuing a 19-point Kathmandu Declaration, the second National gathering of the Press Organisation Nepal, demanded the reinstatement of the House of Representatives concluding HoR dissolution was against the constitution, an attack on the constitution. The organisation said it firmly stood against the HoR dissolution.
