The meeting of District Security Committee decided to seal the district until May 18, informed Dirgha Narayan Poudel, Chief District Officer of Kapilvastu.

Nepal Govt. sends diplomatic note to India on border dispute

Foreign Minister Pradip Kumar Gyawali, on behalf of the government had sent the diplomatic note to the Indian government. Minister Gyawali handed over the note to Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Indian ambassador to Nepal, informed Bharat Raj Poudel, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

The flow of vehicles have increased in Kathmandu in the second day of relaxation of nationwide lockdown. The government offices, private offices, banks and financial institutions have partially opened from Sunday, leading to increased movement of people on roads.

Nepal-India border dispute to be settled on basis of Sugauli Treaty: Gyawali

Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali Sunday said that the border dispute between Nepal and India should be settled on the basis of Sugauli Treaty, historical documents and other evidences. Speaking separately in the meetings of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly, Minister Gyawali informed that the House that the government was ready to resolve the issue on the basis of the historical documents after India unilaterally extended its road in Nepal’s territory.

Ruling NCP wants early settlement of border issue

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said the border issues between Nepal and India should be resolved at the earliest. “We must seek solution through the political and diplomatic initiatives. Alternative methods should also be put in place if political and diplomatic channels do not work,” he said at the meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the Federal Parliament on Sunday.

Ex-Gurkha armyman dies of Corona Virus  

A former Gurkha armyman has died of Corona Virus on Saturday. Karna Bahadur Rai,77, had been admitted to the Maidstone Hospital 10 days ago after complaining of respiratory problem. He died during treatment, said spokesperson at the Nepali Embassy in London, Sharad Raj Aran.
