London, May 10 : A former Gurkha armyman has died of Corona Virus on Saturday. Karna Bahadur Rai,77, had been admitted to the Maidstone Hospital 10 days ago after complaining of respiratory problem. He died during treatment, said spokesperson at the Nepali Embassy in London, Sharad Raj Aran.
A permanent resident of Mauwakhola in Taplejung, Nepal, Rai had been living at Maidstone, UK for the past three years with his wife and two children.
This takes the death toll of Nepalis who died of Corona Virus in the UK to 45.
Ex-British Ambassador to Nepal reported missing
Meanwhile, former British Ambassador to Nepal Richard Morris has been reported missing from Wednesday. London Police has issued a public appeal to help find him.
Morris had reportedly left his home in Bentley for jogging on Wednesday morning and did not return home since then. Police have released the details of 52-year-old Morris and requested the public to help trace him.
Spokesperson of Hampshire Police Office has said that internal search is underway but the time had come to issue a public appeal to find Morris.
Morris had served as the British Ambassador to Nepal from 2015 to 2019.
