Nepali film Dushprayas has scheduled its release date for July 9. The film production company announced the release date while launching the first look of the film on Tuesday.

Kaski schools to stay open for now

The government has appealed to the students of 14 districts, including Kaski, not to go to school by classifying them as coronavirus-infected districts. However, schools there are operating complying with all precautionary measures.

Tanahun’s 115 households gain access to electricity

Electricity from the national transmission line has finally reached the 115 households spread across Byas Municipality Ward No. 14 and Devghat Rural Municipality Ward No. 4. To mark the historic event, Krishna Kumar Shrestha (Kisan), member of the House of Representatives, turned on the switch lighting up the hitherto ‘powerless’ households. Locals can now bid adieu to darkness thanks to the joint support from Nepal Electricity Authority and Tanahun Hydropower Project.

Confined to bed for 22 years, Madhumaya gets new lease of life

Madhumaya Chepang, a 34-year-old resident of Devitar, a remote village in Raksirang Rural Municipality Ward No. 8, was confined to bed at a tender age of 12. A complex neural disorder inhibits free movement and refrains her from maintaining certain postures. She can neither raise her head to gaze at the stars above nor can she sit up straight without assistance. For 22 years now, Chepang hasn’t been able to sleep flat on her back.
