Kathmandu, Apr. 17: Nepali film Dushprayas has scheduled its release date for July 9.
The film production company announced the release date while launching the first look of the film on Tuesday.
Dushprayas aims to raise voice against increasing violence and the plot is said to revolve around injustices meted out against women, murder and abduction.
The first look of the film, produced by Rita Devi Mubhij, was unveiled by CPN-Maoist Standing Committee member and former minister Dev Gurung in the capital.
Speaking on the occasion, Dinesh Lingden, the film’s narrator and director, said that he would release the film at his own risk even amidst the raging pandemic.
The ensemble cast consists of Nisha Pomu Limbu, Som Lama, Prison Shrestha, Susmita Karki, Ajay Khadka, Kalyan Rai, Niru Mahat, Devika Khadka, Pradip Yonghang, Dilip Thakuri, Mahendra Kumar Rai, Bibek Begha Limbu, Chhewang Lama and child actor Sudita Lingden.
Written and directed by Lingden, the film features songs by Janu Kambang Lingden and Shankar Adhikari Ghayal with music from Bikas Chaudhary, and Rajkumar Bagar. Singers Rajesh Payal Rai, Amrita Limbu, Lingden and Shreyasi Chemjong have lent their voice.
Presented by Sumit Lingden, the film features Janak Karki’s dance number, Raju Kiranti’s action-packed fight sequences and Gyanu Rai’s cinematography.
