Two infected in Kapilvastu taken to Lumbini State Hospital   

Two persons from Mayadevi rural municipality in Kapilvastu district who had tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday have been taken to corona hospital at Lumbini State Hospital, Butwal. They were taken to the specialized hospital via ambulance.    

Lockdown violation increasing at people's level in Kailali   

People in increasing numbers are violating the lockdown announced by the government to stem the spread of coronavirus pandemic. It is found being violated from the people's level itself.  

Youth kills parents  

A youth has murdered his parents at local Ishibu of Phedap rural municipality-5. Twenty-year-old Kanchan Limbu attacked his father Rup Bahadur Limbu and step-mother Isha Khapung Limbu with an axe at 6pm on Thursday, killing them instantaneously. The father is 42 years old while the step-mother is 35 years old.    

Rainstorm knocks down radio and television towers in Surkhet 

Rainstorm has damaged a transmission tower each of Radio Nepal and Nepal Television at Harre in Surkhet. High wind amidst rain knocked down the Radio Nepal's FM relay station and the television tower at the place, said Mohan KC, a relay station technician based at Harre.    

State-2 releases Rs 2 billion for COVID-19 control 

The State-2 government is spending two billion rupees in prevention and control of COVID-19.     The State government's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning has released this amount out of the total State budget. The State-2 government's total budget for fiscal year 2019/2020 is Rs 38.72 billion.  

Tiger mauls local representative

A local government member has sustained serious injuries after he was attacked by a tiger on Thursday. He is 65-year-old Mayaram Khanal of Geruwa. Khanal is the Ward Member of the Geruwa rural municipality-4. He was attacked by a Royal Bengal tiger at around 3pm while grazing buffalo on the fringe of Bardiya National Park, said Dil Bahadur BC, a local.    

Lockdown effect: Customs Office collects not a penny since April 13

The office said that revenue collection was affected after the District Administration Office directed the Maheshpur Customs Office not to collect the customs. 

Swab collected from 335 persons of Bhulke

Health Office chief in Udayapur, Mohan Subedi, informed that their team reached Bhulke, the hotspot of the coronavirus infection, and collected the swab from 335 persons including those from 55 Muslim households.    

Nepal drops in international rating on central government budget transparency

"Nepal secured a budget transparency score of 41 out of 100 in 2019 round survey which is 11 point decline in comparison to the 2017. The country scored 22 on public participation in budgetary process while it is 48 on budget oversight front", reveals the OBS-2019 summary report submitted to the Ministry of Finance. With this Nepal's ranking stands at 68 out of 117 countries assessed in the survey, the world's only independent, comparative and fact-based research instrument.    

Rain with hailstone damages different crops in Baitadi
