Budget can't solve national problems: Former PM Bhattarai 

Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said time has come to evaluate the budget based on facts and figures. Participating in today's meeting of the House of Representatives on annual estimates of the fiscal year 2020/21, the former PM Bhattarai viewed the budget brought in a traditional fashion would not be capable to solve the problems facing the country at present.    

Difficult to achieve budget target: opposition party leaders  

The opposition parties have not shown confidence over the government for achieving its budget targets.     In today’s meeting of House of Representatives convened to discuss on the newly launched budget for fiscal year 2020/21, major opposition party Nepali Congress parliamentarian Prakashman Singh blamed that the government had not paid attention towards minimizing the effect of COVID-19 while presenting the budget.    

Constitution amendment bill presented in HoR meeting

Constitution of Nepal (2nd amendment) bill, 2077 was registered in the federal parliament on May 22 in order to adjust Nepal's genuine map in the Coat of Arms. The government recently released the revised map of the country. The revised map has incorporated the places Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani in its territory.    

NC directs lawmakers to vote for constitution amendment   

The major opposition Nepali Congress has directed its lawmakers to vote for the amendment of constitution. The bill has been registered for the amendment of Schedule 3 of the constitution which is about the Coat of Arms.         

  Karnali State records 123 COVID-19 cases 

The number of people infected with coronavirus has reached 123 in Karnali State. With the latest updates- 33 on Saturday and 18 this morning, the total caseload reached 123.

128 Nepalis killed, 16 thousand infected 

The number of Nepalis who died of Corona Virus outside Nepal has reached 121. Seven Nepalis lost their lives in the past week, according to the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA).  

1,048 locals enter from Nepal-India border 

One thousand and forty-eight people have entered the country in the past three days from the Nepal-India border in Jhulaghat. They were rescued from across the border. 

Woman in Quarantine gives birth  

A woman in a quarantine centre has given birth. Mina BK,19, a resident of ward no. 2 in Thatikhanda rural municipality gave birth to a baby girl on Friday. She was staying at the quarantine set up at the Janata Basic School 

Nepal-UK foundation provides support  

The Cine Journalists Association Nepal Kaski chapter has provided food support to 100 families in and around Pokhara. The food supplies worth Rs. 300,000 were distributed with financial support from Pokhara Nepal-UK foundation.    

  13-year-old infected with dengue, cases reach 10 

The number of Dengue infection cases is on the rise in Myagdi, along with Corona Virus infection. On Saturday, a 13-year-old girl of Barangja in ward no. 3 of Mangala rural municipality was found infected with Dengue.
