Baglung to prioritize vegetables grown within district  

Baglung, a district in Gandaki State has decided to promote local produces and therefore banned the import of vegetables and fruits from outside the district.     

  COVID-19: 38 new cases confirmed, tally reaches 113   

Thirty-eight new cases of Corona Virus have been confirmed in Gandaki state this morning. This takes the total number of infected to 113 in the state.    

 19-year-old dies in quarantine 

 A 19-year-old youth has died in a quarantine in ward no. 3 of KI Singh rural municipality this morning. He was a resident of the same ward and had returned from India on June 2.   

  CAAN directive against haphazard chartered flights 

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has directed airlines companies to not carry out chartered flight in haphazard manner. The directives comes in response to complaints that airlines companies were charging passengers exorbitantly in international chartered flights carried out during the lockdown period.  

Britain announces more funds to help Nepal fight COVID-19 

The British government has announced additional funds to help Nepal fight the increasing rate of Corona Virus in the country. The support is to be provided through the British Department for International Development (DFID). 

University to begin classes online   

The Far-western University has begun preparations for online classes. The online system is being introduced to help students out of academic activities due to the lockdown imposed to stem the spread of Corona Virus.    

Bagmati State University in the offing 

The Bagmati State government is to run the State University in the coming fiscal year. It has already set up legal and institutional structures to run academic programme, as mentioned in the budget estimates for the fiscal year 2020/21.   

India-returnee dies in quarantine  

A man has died the same day he had returned from India and stayed at a quarantine. A 31-year-old man who arrived on Saturday morning at the Bhimdutta technical education institute quarantine in Patan municipality-6 died the same night, said health assistant at Patan primary health centre, Prem Sagar Bhatta.    

     Govt urged to focus on sustainable economic development to tackle with COVID-19   

The Lower House lawmakers, taking part in the discussions over several headings in the Appropriation Bill-2077 today, sought the government's attention towards the sustainable development of economy to cope with COVID-19 crisis.

Gauriganga Municipality-9 in the district has organized a psychological counseling for the stress management among people staying in quarantines here.
