Snowfall blocks Mid-Hill Highway for week  

The Mid-Hill Highway also known as the Pushpalal Highway in Rukum East which was obstructed by snowfall occurred on February 1 is yet to be come into operation. Vehicles have remained off the Highway for a week due to road obstructions, causing inconvenience to the passengers.    

IFRC Secretary General Chapagain returns to Sri Lanka 

Secretary General of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Jagan Chapagain, has gone to Sri Lanka after completing Nepal visit.     He had taken the charge of Secretary General of the IFRC from February 1, 2020. This is the first Nepal visit of Chapagain after becoming the IFRC Secretary General.    

Rhino found dead

A rhino was found dead at Kavretaal near Baghmara post of Chitwan National Park (CNP).   

Weather: Cloudy in hilly region and foggy in Tarai   

The Westerly wind has general impact in the weather of the country at present. It is partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region while it is foggy in some parts of the Tarai due to the influence of this weather system, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.    

Rhino horn smuggler arrested after 23 years 

The Chitwan National Park (CNP) has been able to arrest the convict on smuggling rhinoceros horn after 23 years of the crime. Krishna Prasad Neupane, 58, from Kalika Municipality-2 in the district had been absconding for such a long time.    

Flight conducted after five days in Humla 

The flights to and from Simkot airport have been conducted after five days. The flights were possible after removing the snow piled up at airport.

The Home Ministry has urged the students aspiring for foreign education to meet all necessary processes of the related country and educational institutions before leaving home.    

Works at office of Sudurpaschim University affected for two months   

The works at central office of Sudurpaschim University came to a halt for nearly two months as the office was padlocked by the agitating student organizations.     The student organizations had padlocked the office by protesting the appointment of Dean, Assistant Dean, Director and Assistant Controller of Exam.  

Study team formed for labor hospital

The feasibility study team formed under the coordination of Chief of Labor Relations and Social Security Division of the Ministry Shesh Narayan Poudel will study the human, material, financial and managerial resources, operation modalities and other aspects for the operation of the hospital.

Education Minister pledges teachers facilities on par with civil employees

The Minister shared so at an interaction organized by Tarakhola rural municipality in Baglung on Monday. During the interaction, Minister Poudel also pledged that a technical institution would be set up at Tarakhola rural municipality under the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
