NHRC calls for justice to social boycott survivors   

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the local administration and local government to ensure justice to Tanka Prasad Acharya,77, a resident of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality-1, who was socially boycotted for his disbelief in untouchability. Acharya was boycotted by his fellow society for taking part in a joint feast organised by the Province no. 1 government as part of its effort to build a society free of untouchability. The event had taken place two years ago.    

Youth killed in motorcycle accident  

A youth died in a road accident near the Buldi bridge in Byas municipality-2 of Tanahu last night. The accident took place on the Prithivi highway.     The deceased has been identified as Bibek Thapamagar,22, a resident of Malebagar in Byas-2, according to police. Pillion rider Rajani Gurung,20, was injured in the accident, DSP as the District Police Office, Yubaraj Timilsena said.    

Dalit journalists Association AGM on March 12-13 

The first general convention of National Dalit Journalists Association is to be held in Butwal, Rupandehi from coming March 12 to 13. The Association will elect a new leadership while discussing on the organization structure, journalism and inclusion among other issues, said Association Chair Binod Pahadi.
