Kathmandu, Feb 28 : The first general convention of National Dalit Journalists Association is to be held in Butwal, Rupandehi from coming March 12 to 13. The Association will elect a new leadership while discussing on the organization structure, journalism and inclusion among other issues, said Association Chair Binod Pahadi.
More than 2000 journalists affiliated with various media and from the Dalit community are members of the Association. The Association has branches in 60 of the 77 districts in the country. Representatives and delegates from all the seven provinces and 77 districts will take part in the convention.
The association was established in 2067 BS with the objective of promoting the professional rights and security of the journalists from the Dalit community.
