Kathmandu-Sri Lanka direct flight begins today

Sri Lankan Airlines is launching a direct flight from Kathmandu to Sri Lanka from today.

Fire kills couple   

Both husband and wife in a family died in a fire occurred at Segle Lamjung Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-9 in the district last night. The victims were 56-year-old Dharma Raj Bhandari and his spouse Pashupati Bhandari, 45. 

Optical fibres laid on 1,006 km length  

Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has mobilized the Rural Telecommunications Development Fund to expand the broadband internet service across the country. Works on it have been completed in sixty districts under 15 packages out of 18. Similarly, fifty percent works completed in 10 districts under two packages. 

Bagmati Province govt adds four more offices  

The Bagmati Province has decided to set up four new offices under the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment in order to provide public service in a convenient manner.    

NTC's 4G tower being set up in Humla 

Nepal Telecom is setting up a 4G tower at Limi of Namkha Rural Municipality-6, a remote northern belt of Humla district. Supply of construction materials via helicopter is underway now.    

Kakarbhitta custom point records Rs 35 billion trade loss   

The foreign trade via Kakarbhitta, eastern custom point in Jhapa district, recorded a huge trade loss. In the last fiscal year, the custom office recorded the loss of over Rs 35 billion.

All provinces to get hospital for maternity services soon: Minister of State Shrestha

Minister of State for Health and Population, Umesh Shrestha, said that preparations were underway to expand service related to maternity and gynaecology by building hospitals for gynaecology in all seven provinces.
