Preparations are on full swing to operate the Patihani Resort – a well-appointed structure constructed at Patihani of tourism city, Chitwan, at the investment of Rs 1 billion.    

Landslide leaves one dead, three injured   

Landslide that occurred in Panini Rural Municipality-7, Adguri left one girl child dead and three others injured. The deceased has been identified as Jharana Sunar, nine-year-old daughter of Jibalal Sunar, confirmed the District Police Office.    

District hospital initiates expanding beds after 29 years   

The 15-bed District Hospital Khotang has initiated its preparation to expand its capacity to 50 beds. The hospital was established in 13 April 1992.    

Weather improves, heavy rain unlikely ahead 

The weather has slightly improved as the monsoon which had been active for the past few days has become weak. The monsoon trough which was closer to the Tarai southern plains has now shifted towards the south, thwarting the intensity of the monsoon.    

Traffic resumes on Helambu highway

The Helambu highway has become operational after two days since it was blocked. The roadway was blocked due to landslides and floods triggered by incessant rain.

Nepal is preparing to raise the issue of the impact of climate change on the mountain region with much priority during the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26).

Colombo - Kathmandu direct flight launched   

The Sri Lankan Airlines has launched a direct flight from Sri Lanka to Nepal today. An aircraft –'A' 320 of Sri Lankan Airlines that took off from Colombo landed at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, at 10:24 am.

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has brought the technology of making briquette from the torn, worn-out, soiled and trashed banknotes.    

Drinking water shortage grips village in Nawalparashi  

Villages in Hupsekot Rural Municipality in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East) have been reeling under acute drinking water shortage after flood swept away the drinking water pipe since the beginning of monsoon this year.   

Koshi River’s water discharge fluctuating   

The level of water in Saptakoshi River has started fluctuating lately. Earlier, there was a rise in the water’s level following incessant rains in the eastern hilly and Terai districts.
