UK removes Nepal from red list

The Government of UK has removed 47 countries and territories including Nepal from its red list, which was in place earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic.   

Public transport fare increases in Kathmandu Valley, to come to effect from Oct 18

The Bagmati Provincial government has increased public transport fare in the Kathmandu Valley. According to the public transport fare adjustment set by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructures Development of the province, travel by public bus up to 5 km distance is charged Rs 18 each. The decision however comes into effect from October 18.

Meat price fixed for uniformity

The price of mutton with tripe is Rs 1,000 per kilogramme, that with fat is Rs 1,200 per kilogramme and that with brisket meat (as per the customer's order) is Rs 1,300 per kilogramme, the National Meat Entrepreneurs Association said.

NC not to organize tea reception on Kojagrat Poornima this year

NC chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel gave this information through a press release today. The press release states that although the fear and size of the COVID-19 pandemic has been reducing after the present government made extensive arrangements for vaccination, the tea reception is not going to be organized on the Kojagrat Poornima day this Dashain as we cannot undervalue the risk of the pandemic.

Study on maternal mortality rate to be carried out through national census

The Ministry of Health and Population is going to carry out a study regarding maternal mortality rate along with census with an objective of determining maternal mortality rate and strengthening safe maternity service by identifying the reasons behind the death.

Home Minister inspects flood-hit areas in Manang   

Home Minister Balkrishna Khand today inspected the flood-affected areas in Manang. During the visit, Chief District Officer Rabindra Prasad Acharya briefed the Minister about the losses caused by the flood during this monsoon and the reconstruction plan of the damaged infrastructures.    

NAC's former Chairperson Chaturvedi found dead 

Former Chairperson of the Nepal Airlines Corporation, Ramagya Prasad Chaturvedi, was found dead this morning.     According to the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, he was found dead near the under construction house at Chabahil.    

Dr Mahat leaves for New Delhi leading a NC delegation  

A team of Nepali Congress leaders has left for New Delhi today for five-day India visit. NC Joint General-Secretary Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat is leading the team.    

Six goats killed by leopard in Sundarpur 

Six goats owned by Jaisingh Dhami of Sundarpur in Bedkot Municipality-9 were killed by a leopard.

Huawei launches Seeds for the Future in Nepal

Huawei has launched Seeds for the Future– its global flagship CSR program for undergraduate level students from all ICT-related disciplines in Nepal. The initiative was started as part of its Digital Talent Development Ecosystem. This is the first time that Huawei is introducing the program in Nepal.
