Woman goes missing as boat capsizes in Karnali river 

A woman from western Surkhet has gone missing when a boat capsized in the Karnali river. The boat overturned today morning when it was heading towards the Mohanyal rural municipality of Kailali.

Telephone service disrupted in Simkot rural municipality for one month

Telephone service provided by Nepal Telecom at Simkot Rural Municipality-3 in Humla district has remained obstructed for the past month. But concerned authority seems least concerned. The problem has aggravated at a time when festivals including Dashain and Tihar have arrived at the doorstep.

Man dies due to elephant attack 

A person died due to an attack by a wild elephant at Khairi, Geruwa on the banks of the Karnali river. The deceased is 35-year-old Bechan Dahit, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Hem Bahadur Shahi, said.

One killed in road accident   

One person has died on the spot and two others were injured when a jeep met with an accident at Armapakha in Sanibheri Rural Municipality-11 of Rukum West this morning. The deceased has been identified as Jeevan Bhandari, 31, of Sanibheri Rural Municipality-9.    

  Number of people leaving valley for Dashain increases 

The number of people leaving the Kathmandu Valley has started increasing as the greatest festival of Nepali Hindus, Bada Dashain is fast-approaching. The number of travellers entering and leaving the valley from October 1 to 7 was equal. At present, the number of outbound passengers is increasing, according to the Metropolitan Traffic Police.
