PM reassures of relief to survivors of floods and landslides 

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has assured of relief assistance to the survivors of recent incidents of water-induced disasters across the country.    Talking to media persons briefly at Biratnagar Airport today, the Prime Minister said the government would ensure food and proper shelter for the affected households.  

Ward Chair Adhikari passes away

Ward Chair of Tarkeshwor Rural Municipality-4 of Nuwakot Ram Mani Adhikari has passed away. The 77-year-old was undergoing treatment after being infected with Corona Virus at Manmohan Hospital in Kathmandu.   

PM Deuba visiting disaster-hit areas in the east   

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is visiting the flood, landslide and inundation affected districts in the east today. He will visit Sunsari, Morang, Ilam and Panchthar districts affected by floods, landslides and inundation, according to his secretariat.    

Child feared drowned, man found dead  

A child has gone missing in Bhuji river in Bobang of Dhorpatan Municipality-7 in Baglung district. Jeevan, five-year-old son of Dil Bahadur BK of Dhorpatan-7 Dharabot, who went to play with a friend in Bhuji river on Saturday evening, has gone missing.     

Moving bus catches fire   

A bus caught fire in Gajuri Bazaar of Gajuri rural municipality-1 on the Prithvi Highway this morning. The bus (Na 6 Kha 1471) heading to Kathmandu from Surkhet caught fire all of a sudden as it was in motion, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Jageshwor Bhandari.    

Dhaka cloth trade down with Corona Virus  

Kamala Rayamajhi of Chhahra in Rainadevi Chhahra Rural Municipality-4, was very excited when she started a shop in Silkhantol, Tansen five years ago to trade in Dhaka cloth. But is now very disappointed with the business slowing down due to non-arrival of tourists into district, due to the spread of the Corona Virus. 

Three killed in separate incidents   

Three people have been killed in separate accidents in Sarlahi district on Saturday. According to the District Police Office, two persons were electrocuted while a teenager was killed when he was hit by a motorcycle.    

Mehmood’s sister Minoo Mumtaz passed away battling cancer

Mehmood's sister and veteran actress Minoo Mumtaz aka Malikunnisa Ali passed away today due to deteriorating health conditions. She was diagnosed with cancer a few days ago, which worsened her condition and lead to her demise today.

NC leader Poudel rules out possibility of early election

Ruling out any possibility for the government to go for early elections, Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel clarified that it would go for polls only after completing its full term. Going for early elections is against the constitution, he reasoned at a press conference at Geta Airport in Dhangadhi. 

Possibility of formation of new government under NC leadership in Province 1: Minister Khadka

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Narayan Khadka, has said that there was the possibility of forming a government under the leadership of the Nepali Congress in Province 1.
