Be cautious in using electric equipment for warming: Health Ministry

In view of various fatal incidents taking place especially during the cold, the Ministry of Health and Population has appealed to people to be cautious in using electric equipment like heater and geyser to warm themselves.

Weather improving gradually   

The westerly low pressure system and the low pressure area around Bihar in India have their influence in the country at present.     The weather is generally to completely cloudy throughout the country due to this system with light rain taking place at a few places and light snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous region, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.    

Four members of single family found dead, three in unconscious condition   

Four members of a single family were found dead at the Bheri Hospital staff quarters in Nepalgunj this morning. Three others who fell unconscious are receiving treatment at Bheri Hospital.     Dhan Prasad Bhattarai, storekeeper at the Hospital, his family and relatives died in the hospital quarters, said Superintendent of Police of Banke, Shyam Krishna Adhikari.    

Earthquake tremor felt in Sudurpaschim hill districts   

An earthquake tremor has been felt in the hilly districts of the Sudurpaschim province, including in Baitadi. The tremor occurred at 12.53 am on Wednesday and was felt in Baitadi and Darchula, among other districts.
