The weather will be partly cloudy throughout the country today with chances of light snowfall at one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous areas in Gandaki and Province no 1.

House obstruction delaying enactment of Civil Service Act   

Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Rajendra Prasad Shrestha, has said that problem has surfaced in management of employees due to failure to issue the Federal Civil Service Act.     Directing the Chief of Morang District Administration Office at the office today, Minister Shrestha shared that the Act has not been issued due to the obstruction in the Federal Parliament since long.    

Chitwan reports deaths of 31 wild animals since mid-June, 70 percent road kills   

The national forest area in the district reported the deaths of 31 wildlife in the past five and half months. According to the Division Forest Office, Chitwan, the wildlife fatalities include rhinoceros, leopard and animals of deer family.  

Price of yellow metal up   

The price of yellow metal has gone up by Rs 600 per tola today in Nepali market. The price of hallmark gold has reached Rs 92,700 per tola today. It was traded at Rs 92,100 on Thursday. A tola is equivalent to 11.66 grammes.  

Cold wave obstructs Tribhuvan Highway  

The Tribhuvan Highway has been obstructed due to dense cold wave at Simbhanjyang. As a result, vehicles heading to Kathmandu from Hetauda and vice versa have been stuck midway, said Inspector Shree Ram Timalsina. Earlier, the highway that was obstructed due to snowfall resumed on Thursday evening. Transportation will reopen when the weather condition is good, he said.    

Over 6,000 children vaccinated against COVID-19 in Rukum (East)  

More than 6,000 children between age group 13-18 in Rukum (East) have been vaccinated against COVID-19, said the health office, Rukum (East). As part of a COVID-19 vaccination drive, so far 6,216 children between the age group have been administered Moderna vaccine, said the COVID-19 control focal person under the health office, Nim Prasad Giri.   

46th national unity and reconciliation day being observed today  

The 46th national unity and reconciliation day is being observed across the country by organising various programmes.     The day is marked every year on Poush 16 in the Nepali calendar in memory of the Nepali Congress founding president BP Koirala, who along with some other leaders came back to Nepal after a long exile in neighbouring India.    

Nepali Army reaches out to Gurja avalanche survivors   

A team of Nepali Army returned after reaching out to the survivors of an avalanche at Gurja in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-1 in the district. The Army team from Kathmandu reached the incident site along with relief materials and a rescue team on a helicopter following the avalanche.
