Elephant attack: one killed, four injured

A wild elephant in Kanchanpur attacked a group of people collecting fodder in a community forest this morning, leaving one dead and remaining others injured. 

Snowfall forecast, meteorologists suggests for alertness

Westerly wind system above Iran and Afghanistan is entering Nepal's western territory by this evening with the possibility of snowfall in high hills and mountain regions there, Meteorological Forecasting Division stated, suggesting for alertness.    

No access to road in centres of 368 local levels

Despite the government top priority to the road construction efforts, centers of 368 local levels, out of 753, have no access to road. During a study conducted by the Local Infrastructure Department with a view to connecting centers of all local levels with blacktopped roads, it was found that centers of 368 local governments had no access to any sorts of roads

Narayangadh-Muglin road section to padlock in noon for two weeks

The Narayangadh-Muglin road section would remain closed for certain hours in noon for two weeks effective from December 13 this year.     The meeting of the Security Committee of the District Administration Office (DAO), Chitwan held here today has decided to close the 36-km road section from 11 am to 3 pm as per the demand made by the Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project Office for carrying out road repair and maintenance works.    

Police nabs mother-son duo on charges of murdering husband

The district police have arrested a woman and her son on charges of murdering her husband from Bheriganga municipality-2 in Surkhet. Sumitra BC and her son Kamal have been accused of murdering her husband Lok Bahadur, 47.    

Two ward offices torched in Bhojpur

An unidentified group of people torched two ward offices in Bhojpur district on Tuesday night, said the police.     The ward offices that had been set on fire are Ram Prasad Rai rural municipality-2 and Pauwadungma rural municipality-3. Kerosene was used to torch the offices, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Nar Bahadur Salami.
