Bhimduttanagar, Dec 11 (RSS):
A wild elephant in Kanchanpur attacked a group of people collecting fodder in a community forest this morning, leaving one dead and remaining others injured.
The District Office Kanchanpur confirmed the death of 38-year-old Basanti Bhatta of Mahakali municipality-2 in the attack from the wild animal.
Lalita Bohara, Sunita Bista, Uma Saud, and Sushila Bam have been injured. They came under the attack of the wild tusker as they had been in the local Mayapuri Community Forest, DPO Kanchanpur's Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Narendra Chand said. Of the injured, condition of two is said to be serious and they were referred to India. Remaining one member in the group has reportedly gone missing in the jungle and is being searched for by the police.
