Three dead, two hurt in car accident   

Three people died and two others were injured in a car accident occurred at Narpani of Sandhikharka, the district headquarters of Arghakhanchi, today. The car was en route to Sandhikharka from Sainamaina of Rupandehi. 

15 bridges under construction in Bheri corridor 

At least 15 bridges are going to be constructed along the Jajarkot-Dolpa road section under the Bheri Corridor.     Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet said the construction of the bridges is taking place from the current fiscal year after completing the design cost estimation.

Locals of southern Rautahat district have been facing difficulties due to lack of a bridge over the Bagmati River. The locals are compelled to commute through boats due to absence of a bridge.

Road upgrading work delayed

Upgrading work on the Shital Pokhari-Tiladanda road section under Mushikot-Chunwang road project, which is an old project in the district, has been delayed. After the construction works caused damages to the houses and property of the locals of Mushikot Municipality-9, the locals started opposing the construction.

Tuskers steal sleep of Saptari people

People of about a dozen families in the northern part of Saptari district have been unable to  sleep for the last three weeks due to the terror of wild tuskers. Residents of Mahuli, Sitapur, Mehanpur, Belaha and Bhurki of Agnisaira Krishnasabaran Rural Municipality and Birendra Bazaar, Terahauta and Naya Basti of Rupani Rural Municipality have been unable to sleep as they have to keep vigil  to save their life and property from the tuskers.

Four bodies taken out from tunnel

The rescue team of the Armed Police Force (APF) as of Tuesday took out all four bodies from the tunnel of the under-construction Kalanga Gad Hydropower Project. The deceased included both the workers and technicians, according to Kalanga Gad Hydropower Project operator Khageshwor Bohora.

NAC to operate flights to Guangzhou from mid-December

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is all set to operate flights to Guangzhou of China from the third week of December.     It is almost certain that the national flag-carrier will get permission to operate flight to Guangzhou after long efforts, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation stated.

Devi Prasad (DP) Dhakal has been selected to contest from the Bhaktapur constituency no 1 (Ka) for the post of province assembly member from Nepal Communist Party (NCP) for the by-election to be held on November 30 this year.

72 wards in Baitadi sans secretaries 

Seventy-two local level wards, out of 84, in Baitadi are running without secretaries. The situation has hampered the service delivery at most of the local levels, locals said. Baitadi lies in the Far-West Province.

  Acts for state, local levels to pass from winter session: NA's chair Timilsina  

National Assembly (NA) Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has said necessary acts for state and local levels would be passed from NA's upcoming winter session.     His statement comes in response to complaints that state and local levels are facing problems to operate for want of acts as per the constitution. 

Chhath concludes today   

Chhath festival has concluded today by offering arghya to the rising sun. The festival begins four days after Tihar festival. The festival begins on Chaturdashi and concludes by offering arghya to the setting sun on Shashti and to the rising sun on Saptami. This year the festival falls on October 31.
