By Netra Shahi, Khalanga, June 24: After four health workers of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) tested positive for COVID-19, an indefinite curfew has been clamped in Jumla Headquarters to intensify contact tracing and to prevent community transmission of the virus.
According to the notice issued by Bhupendra Thapa, Chief District Officer (CDO) of Jumla, the curfew was clamped from 3:00 PM, Wednesday, in line with section 2 (2) of Epidemic Disease Act, 2020 and section 6 (3) of Local Administration Act, 2028.
“The sealed area includes Dan Saghu of Chandannath Municipality in the east, Umagadh in the west, Karnali Technical School in the north and Tilla River in the west,” said CDO Thapa.
The curfew was clamped from 3:00 PM, June 24, as per the decision of meeting of COVID-19 Command Control Committee and District Security Committee.
Meanwhile, KAHS has halted all services except emergency service.
