Tuins still in use in Humla

Locals in the Himalayan district of Humla, which has not been connected with road networks, are still forced to cross the mighty Karnali River using life threatening tuins (cable crossing). Pleas of locals to build a suspension bridge over the river have fallen on deaf ears for years, compelling people to depend on tuins to go across the Karnali.

Water in Fewa Lake drained

Several tourists visiting the wondrous Fewa lake of Pokhara over the weekend were dumbfounded by the shrinking levels of water in the lake. Shocked upon seeing the lake drying up, a majority of visitors were found snapping pictures of the troubling sight.

Indian nationals held with illegal Rs 4.9 million

Making them public today, Police Spokesperson Gautam Mishra shared that Arvind Mahato, 26, and Khamba, 14, (name changed) of Ghodasahan in Motihari of Bihar State were arrested with the Nepali currency on Saturday during the routine security check.

Two prisons get computers

Two arrested with brown sugar   

Police have arrested two persons with 17 grams of brown sugar from the Nepal-India border area in Bankuruwa in Beldangi rural municipality. An armed police force unit made the arrest near pillar number 783/2 on Saturday evening.
