NA formalises G2G process to purchase COVID-19 medical goods

Nepali Army (NA) Sunday confirmed that it had been assigned by the government to purchase medical equipment and medicines required for the prevention and control of the coronavirus (COVID-19) through government to government (G2G) process.

MoHP to conduct rapid tests in three districts

The Ministry of Health and Population has decided to conduct test for COVID-19 through Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) in Baglung, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts. As per the decision of the Cabinet meeting held on Saturday, the MoHP has decided to conduct RDT at a large-scale as a way to mitigate the risk of coronavirus spread in the community.

The meeting of High Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19, in coordination of Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ishwar Pokharel held today decided to include both purchasing models for purchase and import of medical equipments required to contain COVID-19.

Contribution to COVID-19 fund growing daily

According to the Prime Minister's Office, the fund received Rs 96.9 million on Friday with Rs 50 million from Rastriya Beema Samiti (Insurance Board), Rs 16.5 million from Rastriya Beema Company and Rs 10 million from Rastriya Beema Sansthan.

3 new cases of COVID-19 including a new case of local transmission detected in Nepal

The 34 years old female of Kailali is said to be relative of fourth COVID-19 patient of Dhangadi. This is the first case of local transmission of COVID-19 in Nepal.

Foreign nationals returning home via chartered aircrafts   

Government of Nepal has intensified facilitation to send back the foreign nationals to the homes via chartered the aircrafts. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Immigration and Nepal Tourism Board are making coordination through the embassy of respective countries in this regard.
