Pandemic hampers diagnosis of TB

With the prevalence of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been challenging to ensure continuity of health care services for those coping with various infections, one of them being tuberculosis (TB). After the COVID-19 breakout, as many as 41,000 tuberculosis patients were unable to obtain a diagnosis, as estimated by the National Tuberculosis Centre (NTC). “It is challenging for us to find those unidentified and untreated TB patients,” said Dr. Anuj Bhattachan, Director at the NTC.

Lalitpur Metropolis installs smart street lights

Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has installed 669 smart street lights as part of its campaign to make Lalitpur a smart city. According to Rudra Prasad Gautam, division chief of the Urban Development Division of LMC, these lights are equipped with sensors that sense the traffic volume and activity in the area and dim or brighten as needed. They also detect sunlight and turn off automatically in the morning.

MoHP reports 188 new cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday confirmed 188 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation's novel coronavirus tally to 276,244.

Amendment to Military Regulations pleases lower rank soldiers
