By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Oct. 9: One more elderly woman has lost her life to COVID-19 in Banke.
While the elderly passed away on Thursday night, report of her PCR test, which was positive, came out just this morning.
According to the Health Office, Banke, the octogenarian woman aged 85, from Nepalgunj Sub-metroplotian-1, Dhambojee died at 9 PM on Thursday due to the deadly coronavirus.
The health office stated that the number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Banke was 23 so far.
The octogenarian woman was admitted to Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj, after having health issues, said Naresh Shrestha, focal person of Banke health office on COVID-19.
Her swab sample was collected on October 8, for testing.
Report of her swab test, which turned out to be positive, was received only on Friday morning hours after the woman died while under treatment.
The elderly lost her life on Thursday evening after having no improvement in her health condition even after providing her with treatment through various methods.
Currently, 23 severe cases of COVID-19 are having treatment in different hospitals in Banke.
