By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Parsa, Apr. 18: A woman patient of COVID-19 undergoing treatment at Narayani Hospital has succumbed to the virus infection.
Dr. Saroj Rosa Das, COVID coordinator of the Narayani Hospital, said that a woman aged 51, a resident of Nagwaki, Birgunj Metropolitan City-16, died of COVID-19 this afternoon.
The woman was brought to the hospital as she was seriously ill with fever and coughing and pneumonia and she found infected with SARS-CoV-2 in the PCR test carried out on Saturday in the hospital. She was under treatment in the isolation ward of the hospital.
Dr. Das said that 16 out of 21 infected persons currently undergoing treatment in the hospital were of critical condition. All the 16 are given oxygen support.
Some 255 infected persons are in home isolation in Parsa district.
