By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 13: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction has claimed that theirs was the authentic NCP as a heavy majority of central committee members were with them.
He said so while addressing an NCP cadres' assembly held in Kathmandu today.
He expressed the belief that the Election Commission would make the right decision based on facts.
The former Prime Minister said that the NCP was in protest to defend the federal democratic republican set up as the polity was attacked.
He exhorted NCP cadres to realise historic responsibility to defend the constitution and federal set up.
The NCP Chair said problems had surfaced now although adequate homework was done and all necessary steps were taken before unifying the then two parties -NCP (UML) and NCP (Maoist Center).
He said thought to go for socialism through a competitive multiparty system in a peaceful manner was adopted and it was agreed to adopt ' socialism oriented people's new democracy' as the programme of the party.
Another Chairman of the NCP Prachanda-Nepal faction, Madhav Kumar Nepal, viewed that a large number of NCP cadres were with them and that they were in protest for any post and position but for fulfilling their responsibility as demanded by the unwanted political situation.
The former Prime Minister stated they would get the final victory as they were in the right path.
