By Dhirendra Prasad Sah, Rajbiraj, Nov. 3: Two more persons have succumbed to COVID-19 in Saptari, taking the district death tally to 27.
A male aged 58 of Joginiya died of the virus infection, according to Narayan Prasad Raut Barai, senior malaria inspector at Saptari district health office.
The deceased was a teacher in Morang district. He was admitted to Biratnagar-based Birat Teaching Hospital after he suffered from fever and headache and when he tested positive for COVID-19 there, he was taken to Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar where he breathed his last while under treatment.
He had underlying health conditions of sugar and blood pressure and also had complication in kidneys. The hospital, however, mentioned in the death report that the teacher died due to cardiopulmonary arrest, according to Raut.
Similarly, a 30-year-old male, permanent resident Mahadev Rural Municiaplity-6 in Saptari, died of the infection while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. He was working at the BPKIHS as a radiographer and had tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the test conducted in the same hospital, said Raut.
He died of the infection on Monday evening.
