By Our Correspondent, Charikot (Dolakha), Mar.18: Blacktopping of agriculture roads in rural areas of Bhimeshwore Municipality in Dolakha has begun.
Several rural tracks have been in use for the transportation in the municipality but none of them are blacktopped.
Haribansa Chaulagain, chairman of Ward No. 4, said that they were busy blacktopping the rural agriculture roads. “We have to facilitate the farmers to supply their products which is not possible until and unless we manage better roads,” he said.
According to him, the rural agriculture road from Bhatmase to Jaubari of Lamosanghu-Jiri road section was being blacktopped. Chaulagain said that the local bodies in the district had targeted to promote local products.
“Our productions like edible food grains, fruits and vegetables are supplied in big markets like Jiri and Kathmandu which is why strong road network is a must,” he added.
Amul and Sneha Construction Company had won the contract to blacktop the 750-metre road at Rs. 8.4 million. According to the contract, they have to blacktop the road, maintain drainage, place hume pipe and prepare culvert according to the need.
Chaulagain said that the road from Jaubari to Nagthan will also be blacktopped after completing road construction works.
The length of the road is 11.5 kilometres from Jilu to Bhatmase and a DPR of Rs. 420 million has been prepared to blacktop this road.
