By Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahu, Dec. 23: Some 117 men have filed complaints at the police against their wives stating they were victimised by their wives in the last three years.
Most of the cases are related to men who fled abroad with a dream to keep their family back home happy but were cheated on by their wives.
Men wronged by their wives have started to visit the woman, children and senior citizen service center of the police for requesting to search their absconding wives.
Sujata Karki, officiating chief of the woman, children and senior citizen service center of the police at the district police office here, said that there were 22 cases registered in the last fiscal year wherein the men appealed for finding their wives who had fled with other men along with the money and property.
"Men who go abroad for employment are found to have been victimised by wives. Many men come here to lodge a complaint that when they returned home from foreign employment, they found their wives eloped with other men with all the money and property," said Karki.
The number of cases of men victimised by wives has been on the rise in the last few years. There were 40 such cases in the fiscal year of 2017/018 while there were 55 such cases in 2018/019.
