Number of COVID-19 patients with symptoms on rise in Banke, 19 out of 355 in serious condition

By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Oct. 1: Of the 355 active cases of COVID-19 in Banke, health condition of 19 persons is said to serious.

Number of COVID-19 patients with symptoms has also increased of late, according to Banke District Health Office. Of 355 patients under treatment, 112 have symptoms.

There are two COVID Special Ward in operation in the district for the treatment of the COVID-19 patients, according to Naresh Shrestha, Corona focal person of Banke.

Of the two special wards, one is set up at the Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj, and the other is set up at Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur.

Only the COVID-19 patients with symptoms have been admitted to these wards.

Of 112 admitted to these wards till Thursday, health condition of 19 is serious, 42 mild and 49 in normal health condition.

At COVID Special Ward of the Bheri hospital, there are 60 patients of the novel coronavirus infection. Of them, health condition of 18 is serious, according to Shrestha.

There are 52 patients of COVID-19 under treatment at the COVID Special ward in Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur. Health condition of a patients out of the total is serious.

Of 1,913 COVID-19 cases confirmed in the district till the date, 1542 have returned home after recovery, 355 are under treatment in different isolation centers including hospital while 17 succumbed to the virus infection.
