Nepal Telecom to expand its Namaste mobile service in Kalapani area

By Lokoendra Joshi, Darchula, Nov. 1o: Nepal Telecom has started setting up tower for expanding its GSM mobile service in Kalapani area.

With the construction of the tower, mobile services of Nepal Telecom will also cover three villages of Nabi, Kunji and Kuti, which have been encroached by India, of the area.

The public company has begun digging foundation for the tower near the health post building at Chhangru, Byas Rural Municipality-1, for its Namaste mobile service as there was only CDMA tower in the area.

Materials related to telecom tower amounting to over 180 quintal has been airlifted to the area for construction of the tower.

Two buildings were constructed for the Telecom with help of Sudurpaschim Provincial government last year.

Ashok Singh Bohara, Ward Chair of Byas Rural Municipality-1, said tower construction had started with the transportation of the tower related materials.

Necessity of telecommunication has been augmented after Armed Police Force, Nepal, Company N0. 50 was established here.

It is learnt that tower construction got momentum following the initiative of Home Ministry for the development of Byas Rural Municipality in a package.

The telecom has said that the tower will be located at the hilltop from where even Kalapani can be seen.

Krishna Bahadur Gurung, chief of Nepal Telecom, Darchula, said that completion of the tower construction and operation of the services would start before the snowing season begins.
