By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 18: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa today visited CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal at his residence in Koteshwor.
Minister Thapa is a candidate in the by-election for the member of the National Assembly from Bagmati Province being held on May 20.
Kiran Bhattarai, press advisor to Home Minister Thapa, said that Minister Thapa talked about the by-election for the NA member and issues related to the party. Thapa had switched to the UML from CPN-Maoist Center after the Supreme Court a couple of months ago invalidated the 3-year old unification between the two parties.
The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, and CPN-Maoist Center and the Nepal faction of the CPN-UML have jointly picked Dr. Khim Lal Devkota to compete with Minister Thapa in the by-election for the NA membership.
