Kathmandu, Apr. 12: Society of Fine Art Journalists Nepal (Sofaj) honoured art journalists who contributed to the development of art through art journalism in the capital on Monday.
In the programme, Jaya Dev Bhattarai, editor of Madhupark, the literray magazine, was honoured with Sofaj Lalitkala Journalist award while journalists Shushila Tamang and Narayan Dhungana were presented Sofaj Laxmi Maya Kumale Award and Narayan |Singh Award receptively.
Each awardee was honoured with the letter of appreciation and a cash prize of Rs. 11,111.
Speaking at the programme, Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University (KU), said that engineering and art are connected to each other.
He also said that combination of art and technology would help in the development process.
Awardee Jaya Dev Bhattaai said that the respect shown to art journalists would motivate them to work more.
