By Diwakar Pokharel, Deukhuri, Kathmandu, Nov. 11: Four people were killed in two separate road accidents last night.
As many as three young people died on the spot last night in a truck and motorcycle collision at Maurighat, and the locals here have blocked the road after owner of the truck that upended during the collision tried to pull it away.
As the overturned truck was being lifted up, the locals started blocking the Marurighat road section of Lamahi- Bhalubang road saying that the dead body was being taken without having the permission from the victim’s family.
The discussion between the victim’s side and the police is going on at the accident spot, while the Maurighat road section is blocked by the locals by laying stones on the road.
The motorcycle and truck crash that occurred around 8 PM last night at the Maurighat road section of Rapti rural Municipality in Lamahi-Bhalubang road along East-West Highway killed three people on the motorcycle, said the police.
The deceased have been identified as Manoj Gaha Magar, 16, of Sisahaniya, Ward- 5, Kasham Pun Magar, 18, of Ward- 2 of Rapti Rural Municipality and Dinesh Gharti Magar, 18, of Pipri, of Rapti Rural Municipality-8.
The truck (Na 6 Kha 3344) heading from west to east and the motorcycle (Ra 5 Pa 6744) heading from east to west collided with each other.
The bodies of the dead are being kept at Lamahi Hospital morgue.
The locals say that the speed might be the cause of the accident as both of the vehicles were moving in high speed.
Even the truck went upside down after hitting the motorcycle, meanwhile, the truck driver has absconded from the spot.
Similarly, a 47-year-old Chitra Bahadur Dangi was killed when his motorcycle (Ra 3 Pa 486) collided with a parked bus (Na 4 Kha 6310) heading towards Tulsipur from Babai Rural Municipality- 7, Matheuri in West Dan, said The Police.
