By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Nov. 1: Four persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died while receiving treatment in two different hospitals in Banke.
According to the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center, Banke, three people died at the Kohalpur Teaching Hospital of Nepalgunj Medical College and one died at the Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj from 5 am on Saturday to 1 am on Sunday.
According to Naresh Shrestha, Focal Person at District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center, Banke, an elderly male, aged, 70 from Gorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-4, Dang undergoing treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College Kohalpur Teaching Hospital died on Saturday morning, a 70 year male, from Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-18, Dang, passed away on Saturday afternoon, female, aged, 60, from Nepalgunj died on Saturday evening and a 60 year old male, from Tikapur-1, Kailali, died on Sunday morning in Bheri Hospital.
He said that three of the deceased were referred to Banke in critical condition from other districts, whereas, one was infected in Nepalgunj.
Despite providing all of necessary supportive treatment as per the nature of the diseases such as Oxygen, Remdesivir, Antibiotic, four people died in Banke, said the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center, Banke.
According to the center, 33 critically ill people are still being treated at the two hospitals.
According to the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center, the number of deaths from SARS-CoV-2 in Banke district has reached 31 so far, while the number of deaths of the people referred to hospitals in Banke from other districts has reached 20.
