By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Feb. 9: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Tuesday said that the investigation into the murder of Bhagrathi Bhatta, 17, of Baitadi district, will be successful soon.
Receiving a memorandum submitted by the Nepal Students' Union, Minister Thapa said that the investigation would be successful as the case was not as complicated as Nirmala Panta's murder case after her rape in Kanchanpur.
Stating that the police was close to the culprit, Minister Thapa said that the investigation was carried out focusing on the incident.
"Bhagrathi incident is not like that of Nirmala Panta. The investigation will be successful soon," Thapa told the NSU team led by Rajiv Dhungana, president of the Nepali Students Union.
The Union handed over the memorandum to the Home Minister demanding immediate arrest of the culprits and action against them.
Stating that the government expects positive support from all including youth, students, and civil society to find the culprits, Minister Thapa expressed his commitment to take action against the culprits.
General Secretary Deepak Bhattarai informed that the Union would be compelled to launch a struggle if the culprits were not arrested immediately.
Around two and a half years ago (July 27, 2018), 13-year-old school girl Nirmala Panta was killed in Kanchanpur in a similar fashion.
