By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Sept. 27: An employee of Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Nepalgunj, has died of COVID-19 while under treatment this morning.
The employee, a male aged 47, a permanent resident of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-9, was getting treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur, according to Naresh Shrestha, Corona focal person of Banke district.
He was confirmed of having contracted the novel coronavirus on September 16 and then admitted to the COVID Isolation section of the hospital on the same day.
Dr. Roman Kidbai, assistant director of the teaching hospital, Nepalgunj, said that the different forms of treatment including plasma therapy were used for the treatment of the infected employee.
He said the deceased had underlying health conditions such as diabetes and that he had developed pneumonia in both of the lungs.
With this, number of death cases in Banke district has reached 13.
